Installing the materials across your network

Downloading Resources

While some of the resource material is available to use on the CD-ROM there is also much material that is downloadable. If this is editable by the teacher then it is provided in ©Word format. Some of the classroom materials is provided as pdf files these need ©Acrobat Reader which can be downloaded free from Adobe. For the AV [Sound and Video] files you need to install the Quicktime plug-in, this can be downloaded for Windows or Apple.

If you are a windows user to download right click on the materials and then "Save Link to ..." if you are an Apple user hold the control key and click and then click on "Saved linked file As ..." and save your hard disc. Files may then be printed as normal.

Putting the files on your network / hard drive

We recommend that you copy the entire CD-ROM onto the hard drive or onto the school network. Then when updates are available from the website you should download an entire unit and replace the unit on your computer or the network.

In order to do this you need to:

  1. Set up a folder on your network or on your hardrive called SRSP
  2. Open the CD-ROM in a window and copy all the files into this folder
  3. Set a alias file on the desktop of any computer than you want to use to the SRSP folder.

NOTE: You may need to gain permission from the IT co-ordinator, the network manager or a senior manager in the school before you can load materials onto the network.
